Habitech Systems

Habitech Systems is a Melbourne company that designs homes and extensions using its own prefabricated panel building system. Its Lunchbox projects combine that system with passive solar design, insulation and all-electric technology.

In Hawthorn, Hawthorn Solar Extension adds a striking all-electric rear extension to an 1890s home, with a solar-powered "engine" facing the north garden, and Lawes Street Extension restores the identity of a Victorian cottage that had been reclad in brown brick in the 1980s. Hawthorn Studio helped a family avoid living on a building site during their renovation. On the coast, Mornington Beach Houses are two prefabricated homes raised on a pier-like structure beside Tanti Creek, near Mills Beach.

See Hawthorn Solar Extension, Mornington Beach Houses and more of their work on Lunchbox below.
