Weston Surman & Deane Architecture
Weston Surman & Deane Architecture is a London architecture practice.
On Lunchbox, Writer's Shed is a small studio hidden at the bottom of a London garden, designed to appeal to an author and illustrator's passion for children's literature. It is a private retreat where he can immerse himself in his work. At night the cedar facade glows, lighting the garden in warm, dappled light. Shingle cladding, log storage and an intentionally wonky chimney add to its sense of fun, while an oiled chipboard bookcase stacks haphazardly to fill the gable wall. A reclaimed sink with garden taps and a brass splashback provides a small wash-space.
